The Vikings Final Injury Report: Week 3

The Vikings Final Injury Report: Week 3
Kirby Lee-USA TODAY Sports.

The Minnesota Vikings host the Detroit Lions on Sunday at noon CST, the third regular season game of the 2022 season. The Vikings lost, and the Lions won in Week 2, setting up a showdown of 1-1 team in Week 3.

Some key defensive players for Minnesota have battled injury this week, an eyebrow-raising development as the Lions have one of those powerful offenses in the NFL through two weeks. Detroit ranks second in points scored and seventh in offensive EPA/Play heading into Week 3. Whoodathunkit.

Detroit has six players formally on the injury report, most on offense.

These are each team’s injured players two days before Week 3.

The Vikings are favored by six points over the Lions in Week 3. Detroit has bested Minnesota just once in the teams’ last nine meetings. Quarterback Kirk Cousins has a career passer rating of 119.9 against the Lions, the second-best of all time among all quarterbacks versus the franchise. Russell Wilson’s 130.1 against Detroit is tops all-time.

Eric Kendricks, listed on the injury report as questionable, is expected to play.
