Minnesota now has around 25:1 odds to win the Super Bowl in 2022, slightly fluctuating from 23:1 after toppling the Green Bay Packers in Week 1. The loss in Philadelphia was on national television, so the world received a vivid glance at the Vikings struggles.

Per EPA/Play, the Vikings own the NFL’s 15th-best defense and 20th-best offense after Week 2. Minnesota’s Week 3 opponent, the Detroit Lions, evened their win-loss record to 1-1 following an impressive defeat of the Washington Commanders.

These are the Vikings weekly power rankings heading into Week 3.

The national average of these totals is 11.5. The world believes the Vikings are about the NFL’s 11th- or 12th-best team. Last week, Minnesota was 9th via all averages.

Dalton Miller from Pro Football Network aptly summarized the current state of the Vikings, “The Vikings’ secondary is questionable, which isn’t always going to be a problem but is when the defense faces a competent offensive line, such as the Eagles on Monday Night Football. Minnesota should have no problem competing for a playoff spot in the NFC, but they’ll need their offense to be more consistent.”
