You Can Buy Rick Spielman’s House.
Former Minnesota Vikings general manager Rick Spielman is trekking out of Minnesota.
The franchise terminated Spielman and his copilot Mike Zimmer in January after two consecutive seasons of losing football.
Interestingly, anybody with around $1 million can purchase his home.
Spielman’s Eden Prairie home retails for $975,000, outfitted with 5,622 square feet, five bathrooms, and five bedrooms. For those intimately familiar with Eden Prairie, Spielman’s abode is a hop, skip, and jump from Homeward Hills Park and also butts up against Purgatory Creek.
Spielman arrived in Minnesota 16 years ago, joining the Vikings after a stint with the Miami Dolphins. He was a part of Minnesota’s “Triangle of Authority” with the Wilfs (ownership) and then-head coach Brad Childress.
In 2012, Spielman was elevated to top dog as general manager, drafting players like Harrison Smith, Danielle Hunter, Stefon Diggs, Eric Kendricks, Dalvin Cook, Justin Jefferson, and [sort of] Adam Thielen (Thielen was unearthed as an undrafted free agent).

From 2012 until his departure, the Vikings were the NFL’s 11th-best team per win percentage, owning an 87-72-2 (.547) record in Spielman’s 10 seasons as general manager.
Kwesi Adofo-Mensah took over for Spielman in January, a youthful alternative devoted to the analytics of football. So far, though, most of Adofo-Mensah’s transactions as general manager are Spielmanesque. The Vikings extended quarterback Kirk Cousins, signed a defensive tackle, and wiggled money around with veterans like Harrison Smith and Adam Thielen, creating a feeling as if Spielman never left.
Spielman may not be out of a job long. On Saturday, he was announced as a candidate for the Pittsburgh Steelers general manager job, although the list of applicants is humongous.
The house for sale by Spielman is about two miles from former Vikings running back Adrian Peterson’s old home.
