Week 16 Vikings Injury Report: Bradbury Out, Pair of LBs Limited
The Minnesota Vikings released their first injury report of the week, and on this Tuesday report ahead of their Christmas Eve game against the New York Giants, four players appeared on their first report. The four players on the first Week 16 Vikings injury report are the following:
- LB Brian Asamoah- Limited (ankle)
- C Garrett Bradbury- DNP (back)
- OLB Patrick Jones II- Full (illness)
- LB Eric Kendricks- Limited (hip)
Obviously, the first thing that pops out about this injury report is the fact that starting center Garrett Bradbury remains out with his back injury. Apparently, the injury was aggravated by a minor car accident that he was in over the weekend, which likely doesn’t help his chances of playing this weekend.
If Bradbury does miss this week’s game against the Giants, it will be the third consecutive game he is out due to the back injury. In his stead, Austin Schlottmann has taken over and played well enough for the majority of the time. Another absence for Bradbury likely wouldn’t be the end of the world for the Vikings, but they likely need their stalwart center back for a playoff run.

Then, on the other side of the ball, a pair of off-ball linebackers were limited on Tuesday as Brian Asamoah worked through an ankle injury and Eric Kendricks participated with a hip injury. The Vikings defense has already gone through its fair share of injuries over the past couple months, and the absence of especially Kendricks would be a massive loss this weekend.
Patrick Jones II was also listed on the report with an illness, but he remained a full participant in Tuesday’s practice. It looks like he will be ready to go for this weekend’s game after missing Saturday.
There are a few pleasant surprises with this list regarding names that didn’t appear as well. Cam Dantzler battled through an illness last week, and in the weeks prior to that, he had been going through his ankle injury that landed him on IR for four weeks. To see him not appear on this report should be a good sign for his status this weekend. Additionally, Christian Darrisaw is not on the report after leaving Saturday’s game multiple times with cramping. It’s good to see there were no lingering effects from the war in the trenches last weekend.
On the other side, six players appeared on the New York Giants initial injury report. Those players are as following:
- CB Adoree Jackson- DNP (knee)
- OL Shane Lemieux- DNP (toe)
- OT Evan Neal- Limited (shoulder)
- OLB Kayvon Thibodeaux- Limited (elbow)
- TE Nick Vannett- Limited (shoulder)
- DL Leonard Williams- Limited (neck)
It already appears that starting CB Adoree Jackson will miss his fifth consecutive game with a knee injury that has kept him sidelined since Week 11. Additionally, the Giants pair of 2022 first-round picks, Evan Neal and Kayvon Thibodeaux, were limited in Tuesday’s practice after their Sunday night victory over the Washington Commanders.
Given the fact that the Giants played a game less than 48 hours ago, it seems a given that their injury report would be a bit longer than normal. Expect many of these limited players to be fine by the end of the week.
Both the Giants and Vikings will release two more injury reports this week. Then, the two teams will face off at U.S. Bank Stadium on Christmas Eve, this upcoming Saturday. Kickoff is scheduled for 12 PM CST.
