Vikings WR4 Has Bold Prediction for Lions

For Some Reason, Vikings WR4 Guarantees Victory over DET.

It’s not quite a must-win situation for the Minnesota Vikings, but the team’s punt returner and WR4 has a bold prediction.

The Vikings can win the NFC North on Sunday, needing either one win or one Detroit Lions loss sometime between now and the end of the season to secure the division crown. Incidentally, the Vikings play those very Lions this weekend.

And left up to Vikings WR-PR Jalen Reagor, a win is in the bag. The third-year playmaker told Chris Tomasson from the Pioneer Press that the Vikings are guaranteed to win.

“We’re going to win,” Reagor told Tomasson.

And when asked for clarity if the prediction was a guarantee, Reagor responded, “Yes.”

Reagor joined the Vikings late in the summer after general manager Kwesi Adofo-Mensah swung a deal with the Philadelphia Eagles. Minnesota obtained Reagor for a 2023 7th-Round pick and a conditional 4th-Rounder in 2024. And until last weekend, Reagor was mainly used as a punt returner. However, against the New York Jets in Week 13, Reagor tabulated 46 yards from scrimmage on offense, including a pivotal 38-year reception from quarterback Kirk Cousins.

Because Reagor showed flashes of brilliance versus the Jets, he may be on tap for more utilization in the Vikings offense. He’s only been targeted 8 times in 12 games, so pretty much anything will be an upgrade.

As for his bold declaration about beating the Lions, it is unclear what motivated the prognostication. The Lions, who have a 5-7 record, are oddly favored by 2.5 points to down the Vikings at Ford Field. Minnesota has a 10-2 win-loss mark through Week 13, but sportsbooks evidently don’t care. Perhaps the perceived disrespect from oddsmakers prompted Reagor to guarantee victory.

Detroit has an 8% chance of reaching the postseason, according to FiveThirtyEight.com. The Lions haven’t won back-to-back home games against the Vikings since the 2013 and 2014 seasons. On top of that, Detroit has lost nine of its last 10 matchups with Minnesota.

Both teams were beset by various hiccups when Wednesday’s injury reports dropped.
