The Folks Picking the Colts over Vikings

The Minnesota Vikings (10-3) are four-point favorites two days before a showdown with the Indianapolis Colts (4-8-1) in Week 15.

The Dallas Cowboys ravaged the Colts in Week 13, 54-19, sending Indianapolis into a bye week searching for solutions. The Vikings lost to the Lions by a score of 34-23 at Ford Field last weekend.

According to NFLPickWatch, a website that logs NFL experts’ weekly picks, about 98% of folks believe Minnesota will take down Indianapolis at U.S. Bank Stadium on Saturday. The Vikings have a 7-18-1 (.288) all-time record against the Colts.

A couple of notable personalities forecast a Colts win over Minnesota, though, as the Vikings will experience a Colts team probably in flux, presumably looking for a new head coach and quarterback in the offseason. The franchise fired Frank Reich in November, which didn’t fix much of anything.

As of Thursday, these individuals predict Indianapolis sending the Vikings to a 10-4 record:

Pete Prisco of CBS Sports picked the Vikings in Week 15 and noted, “The Colts offense has struggled in a big way this season, but the Minnesota defense has as well. But I give the Minnesota front an edge over the Colts offensive line. Look for the Vikings to bounce back here as the defense plays better.”

Bleacher Report wrote about the matchup, “Even though 40 percent of the Vikings’ wins wouldn’t have covered this point spread, our crew seems fairly confident that Minnesota will beat the Indianapolis Colts by more than four points at home Saturday.”

The Vikings need one win or Detroit Lions loss to win the NFC North. So, if the Vikings don’t win this weekend, they’ll need Lions loss against the Jets — or everyone waits another week.

If the Vikings are triumphant, they’ll be 11-3 in a season for the first time since 2017.
