Purple Rumor Mill: Offseason Trades, White Out on XMas Eve, the Darrisaw Snub
VikingsTerritory’s Purple Rumor Mill is a two-day chronicle each week. All the week’s rumors are lassoed and plopped in two spots — articles on Saturday and Sunday — for review. Today is the December 24th edition.
Remember — rumors are rumors. What you read on weekends in these pieces is what the world is talking about pertaining to the Vikings, not necessarily items that will come to fruition.

Rumor: The Vikings could or should trade Eric Kendricks, Cameron Dantzler, or Dalvin Cook this offseason.
As far as we can tell, these ideas were spurred by The Viking Age.
And, well, sure — Kwesi Adofo-Mensah has already shown an affinity for trading like a baseball-card hobbyist. He’d be silly not to listen to offers for all Vikings players.
Realistically, though, there may not be a robust trade market for aging players like Kendricks or Cook — meaning swapping either man for low-round draft picks is probably silly.
Dantzler is the only proven-and-young cornerback on the roster, and trading him doesn’t make much sense. Adofo-Mensah should, of course, explore trade values on several players, but we don’t expect Kendricks, Cook, or Dantzler to depart via trade.
Rumor: Fans are vehemently encouraged to wear all white against the Giants on Christmas Eve.
Correct.
Some onlookers believe this applies to players — who will be wearing all white against the Giants — but the promotion is aimed at fans. The Vikings want to create a white-out effect akin to the atmosphere at Penn State in the past.
There’s nothing magical about all-white; it’s just a fun thing to do in the winter. Plus, the recent weather conditions in Minneapolis and the United States on the whole kind of work for this event.
If you’re going to Vikings-Giants, wear all white.
Rumor: Christian Darrisaw was a total Pro Bowl snub.
Darrisaw is the victim of youth in this scenario.
The NFC’s offensive tackle roster for the Pro Bowl consists of Trent Williams, Lane Johnson, and Tristan Wirfs. Those are monsters-of-rock offensive linemen. Darrisaw doesn’t have the name credibility yet, and he misses about a month’s worth of games.
But Darrisaw is the NFL’s second-best OT per Pro Football Focus. He is indeed a Pro Bowl snub.
Thankfully for his sake, he’s a Pro Bowl alternate at the moment and should make the cut when Super Bowl-bound players bow out in February.
