Q: It seems like most people came around on the idea of Jim Harbaugh as head coach. Would he be a slam dunk hire?

Jasen Vinlove-USA TODAY Sports

A: Based on history, yes, he is. Because of this — coaches with the best win percentages of all-time:

Bluntly, the Vikings could not hire a coach with a better win-loss record. Of course, there’s always a chance he totally flops with the Vikings — weird stuff has happened to the franchise before — but his four seasons in San Francisco indicate he’ll be a marvelous hire.

Harbaugh is intense, so be prepared for that. Winning is what he does — by any brash means necessary.

It’s also the splashiest Vikings coaching hire in team history. Kudos to Adofo-Mensah, if the hire fully comes together.

Q: Is it true Rick Spielman is spouting off after his termination by the Vikings?

Rick Spielman
Kirby Lee-USA TODAY Sports

A: No, he’s not spouting off. He did hit the podcast and radio circuit, but he isn’t throwing flames.

Spielman is basically talking in code how vital it is for a head coach and quarterback to jell. And, yes, that implies Mike Zimmer and Kirk Cousins likely weren’t the best of pals. But that shouldn’t be breaking news to any fan of the Vikings.

Conversely, Mike Zimmer’s girlfriend reportedly isn’t a fan of Spielman. She’s actually taking a few shots on social media.

Q: Was Tom Brady the most dominant quarterback ever against the Vikings?

Shamar Stephen
Kim Klement-USA TODAY Sports

A: By win and losses, Tom Brady is the most dominant quarterback against the Minnesota Vikings in team history. His teams faced Minnesota six times — and never lost. Russell Wilson had a more impressive streak going on, but his Seahawks loss to the Vikings — finally — in 2021. Wilson’s teams are now 7-1 versus Minnesota.

Statistically, Aaron Rodgers is the most dominant quarterback ever against the Vikings, merely because his interception count is so low and touchdown total is so high (56 TDs, 7 INTs). But his Packers have lost 10 to the Vikings since 2008.

Brady’s teams were the most successful over Minnesota. Rodgers’ numbers are unmatched.
