Q: The world has been quiet about Chad Beebe. Will he return to the Vikings or to a different team?

Brad Rempel-USA TODAY Sports

A: He is unlikely to return to the Vikings, generally speaking — because they would’ve already brought him back by now.

Beebe is a free agent coming off injury and one who really isn’t very good. He’s just lovable. Vikings fans love “sons of former players,” and Beebe is one of those.

He should be considered a “Zimmer guy” and probably won’t be back. Although, stranger things have happened. Beebe will try out elsewhere in the NFL.

Q: How’s the salary cap looking, and can the Vikings add any more talent?

Rob Brzezinski

A: The Vikings have about $12 million in cap space as of April 2nd.

About $9 million will be needed for a rookie draft class. So, they’re in decent shape. They rank 19th in the NFL as of April 2nd in available cap space.

If Kwesi Adofo-Mensah wants to make one more free-agent splash, he will likely have to restructure the contracts of Dalvin Cook or Eric Kendricks — as he did with Adam Thielen and Harrison Smith.

Q: Who do you guys feel stands to benefit the most from Kevin O’Connell?

Brace Hemmelgarn-USA TODAY Sports

A: K.J. Osborn.

Osborn came into his own as WR3 in a Zimmer offense. Imagine what he can do in a scheme that actually embraces WR3s with two arms.

Others like Kirk Cousins and Irv Smith Jr. will flourish, too, but we’ll get to see in 2022 if Osborn is worthy of eventual WR2 status.
