The quote is significant because any Watson rumors for the Vikings felt like nonsense less than a week ago. Now, with Watson’s criminal matters thrown out by a grand jury in Houston, teams are lining up to inquire about his trade price.
And the Vikings are evidently one of those teams.
The asking price is at least three 1st-Rounders, but it is unclear how Kirk Cousins would factor in the trade package. Unquestionably, Cousins would be moved in the deal, but his value is undetermined in a Watson-for-Cousins swap of assets.
Watson is 26 years old and the third-best quarterback in the NFL since 2017 per EPA/play.
With or without a trade, Watson must still resolve civil allegations of sexual misconduct.
