Gotta Hear It: Vikings Quote of the Day — February 27, 2022
Each day, we select a quote about the Minnesota Vikings, uplifting the sentiment of the day or highlighting something notable.
The remark can come from a Vikings player, coach, writer, fan — or anybody, really. Selection of the quote is arbitrary. The excerpt may be insightful, humorous, groundbreaking, outlandish, or foolish. If you have a quote of the day (your own or from someone else), please send it to [email protected].

This quote is from February 26th, 2022, tweeted by JJDEMARAY on Twitter. He’s talking about the Vikings current salary cap plight:
“Minnesota Vikings fans complain and fret over the Salary Cap every year and somehow Robby B. makes it work. We’ll end up being ok after a couple of extensions.”
– JJDEMARAY | Twitter
And here’s the official tweet:
“Robby B.” is Rob Brzezinski, the man responsible for Minnesota’s salary cap finagling each season. Brzezinski has been with the Vikings organization for 23 years.
JJDEMARAY is correct on the Vikings financial outlook. While it’s not as ideal as existing in a salary cap situation where the team has tens of millions of dollars available, the franchise does ultimately figure it out. Like clockwork, Minnesota is in this spot when the calendar strikes February, and fans wonder just how in the world the pennies will arrive.
The money always arrives.
The only difference in 2022 is the new management. Kwesi Adofo-Mensah replaced Rick Spielman in January. a total change of pace as Spielman was with the Vikings for 16 years. But Brzezinski remained — and he’s the cap mastermind.
Adofo-Mensah will trade or extend Kirk Cousins, alleviating much of the cap anxiety. Danielle Hunter’s deal will be tweaked. And then a few veteran Vikings won’t return, possibly players like Anthony Barr or Michael Pierce.
The lesson? There is no need to panic. Others teams are in this boat, too. Strangely, the Green Bay Packers and New Orleans Saints are even worse cap situations, and they, too, will “figure it out.”
This is how it goes for teams hoping to contend for the playoffs each season.
