Flashback Friday: Vikings Throttle Eagles in 2019
The Minnesota Vikings will travel to the City of Brotherly Love to face the Eagles at Lincoln Financial Field on Monday night.
Both teams are coming off wins last week. Minnesota defeated the Green Bay Packers at home 23-7, while Philadelphia beat the Detroit Lions 38-35 on the road.

This is definitely a very winnable game for Minnesota, but road games are usually not very easy for any team. The Eagles were also a playoff team last season and could be one again this season. If not, they could still very well challenge for a spot.
Minnesota leads the all-time series 15-14, including winning the past two matchups since the 38-7 massacre in the NFC Championship five years ago.
The last time these two teams faced each other came in 2019. Minnesota won 38-20 at U.S. Bank Stadium.
Kirk Cousins went 22/29 for 333 yards, four touchdowns, and an interception. Alexander Mattison rushed for 63 yards on 14 carries, while Dalvin Cook rushed for 41 yards and a touchdown on 16 carries. Stefon Diggs caught seven passes for 167 yards and three touchdowns. Adam Thielen caught six passes for 57 yards and a touchdown.
“You play the game that’s called,” Cousins said, “and today it was an aggressive one.”
On defense, linebackers Anthony Barr and Eric Kendricks tied for a game-high with 10 tackles. Barr also recorded half a sack.
For Philadelphia, Carson Wentz went 26/40 for 306 yards, two touchdowns, and an interception. Alshon Jeffery caught 10 passes for 76 yards and a touchdown.
With the victory, Minnesota improved to 4-2, and Philadelphia fell to 3-3. Minnesota finished the season at 10-6 as a wild card team and advanced to the second round of the playoffs, while Philadelphia won the division at 9-7 and lost in the first round.
This Monday should be a very good one. Former Eagles first-round pick Jalen Reagor is, of course, amped for this.
Linebacker Jordan Hicks spent his first four seasons with the Eagles and was a member of that Super Bowl championship team in 2017.
“I have a lot of good memories out there, a lot of people I still know on that team,” he said. “Definitely excited. Any time you play a former team or play back in your hometown, it means a little bit more.”
A win in their old home would sure be very nice for them.
