All-White-Everything for Vikings Fans on Christmas Eve
Usually when preparing for a Minnesota Vikings home game, fans don their fanciest purple or gold outfits. But a change of pace is afoot.
The Vikings announced on Wednesday that fans are encouraged to wear all white on Christmas Eve at U.S. Bank Stadium, a Week 16 date with the New York Giants.

Minnesota’s social media team posted the announcement to Twitter.
It is unclear if Vikings players will wear their “icy white” uniforms, but fans are supposed to dress in all white, if feasible. Vikings players traditionally wear purple at home, and in the past, if they break out the all-white uniforms, it’s on the road.
But first, the Vikings travel to Detroit this weekend, taking on the 5-7 Detroit Lions — who have a 4-1 record since the start of November. When the Vikings host the Giants on Christmas Eve — with fans in all-white-everything — Minnesota will either have a 12-2, 11-3, or 10-4 record. And 10-4 as a “worst case scenario” heading into Week 16 is a better spot than any fan could’ve dreamed back in August.
The Giants aren’t pushovers, though. New York is 7-4-1 through Week 13, clinging to the NFC’s No.6 seed after a blah tie with Washington Commanders last weekend. Led by quarterback Daniel Jones and new head coach Brian Daboll, the Giants would travel to San Francisco for a date with the 49ers if the playoff started today.
Vikings-Giants will also mark the latest in a litany of holiday games for Minnesota. Since 2020, the Vikings have played (or will play) on these occasions:
? Christmas Day (2020)
? Halloween (2021)
? Thanksgiving (2022)
? Christmas Eve (2022)
? New Year’s Day (2022)
Since the start of the 2010 season, the Vikings have a perfectly mediocre record in the month of December, recording a 27-27 (.500) win-loss mark. Unsurprisingly, Minnesota ranks 16th-best in the NFL in December games since 2010.
