Clarity from Wolfson.
Well, surely the latter, but they’d take guys on minimum type deals. I’m sure the agents for those players know that.
— Darren Wolfson (@DWolfsonKSTP) April 7, 2021
General thoughts from Ragatz.
I recently spoke with former NFL/CFB head coach Jim Mora Jr. (who is now an analyst for SI) about all things #Vikings: the state of the team, Mike Zimmer, Kirk Cousins, coaching Anthony Barr and Eric Kendricks at UCLA.

Vikings on an island.
The Bills have been a standout at drafting the last few years…the Patriots not so much. Looking at teams getting the most playtime out of their drafted players https://t.co/jIKhbHfIbS pic.twitter.com/X1W6OEHEJv

An alleged Vikings FA target is gone. Trai Turner remains.
#Bills signed former #Chargers 2nd-round G Forrest Lamp to a 1-year deal. Started all 16 games last season after battling injuries to start his career.

Forness thinks it’s Dozier to start in 2021.
The Vikings are really planning on starting Dakota Dozier again aren’t they? https://t.co/TS4SgAkGJk
— Tyler Forness (@TheRealForno) April 7, 2021
Turner or bust.
Trai Turner might be the last decent option in the guard market.
Hopefully that’s someone we are looking at and offer more than the minimum— Optimistic Vikings fan (@Superskolfan) April 7, 2021
Fans are displeased.
The Vikings have no interest in having a good offensive line. https://t.co/WVJuVazWFl

Nick Olson goofiness.

Frustration.
Look, I'm not asking for The Hogs from the '80s or the Cowboys of the '90s here.
All I want is for @CourtneyRCronin to NOT have to write her fourth annual "The #Vikings have a lot of talent, but their offensive line might doom them" season preview article.
— Eric Thompson (@eric_j_thompson) April 7, 2021
Amen.
My frustration w the #Vikings isn’t that they didn’t sign Lamp or even that they Dozier’s back (at min w no guarantees) it’s that at a position of weakness you’d like to see them attack that spot w more proven vet competition especially when most of those options aren’t expensive

Zimmer = Always Defense-First.
As Zimmer said, the Vikings offense wasn’t the problem. He’s ok them being good not great, can’t over shadow the defense- I know we have the draft but let’s not act like Zimmer will try and out defense first again https://t.co/19cWCq11W5

Very bold prognostications.
Vikings are going to trade up for Fields, then trade up into the 2nd for their DE/OL target…
And use cap space to fill the remaining DE/OL starter void after the draft.
Book it!

Vikings could use an RB3. Not mandatory — but not unheard of.
Bengals announced they released HB Giovani Bernard.

Contextually, Lamp was Dozier-like last season.
Lamp is a sizezble upgrade? To whom?
PFf Grades
Dozier 44.6
Lamp 49.4 https://t.co/Ny2ZPcG8vM— Chris Duncanson (@SpyderFenix) April 7, 2021
Suddenly apropos with Gladney’s shenanigans.
Richard Sherman expects to wait until after the draft to sign because teams rather see what they can get in the draft before adding an "old fool" https://t.co/X8fQBqwde7

9th-best roster in the business per Mike Clay.
Mike Clay has the #Vikings with the 9th-best overall roster and predicts them to finish with the 7th-best overall record: https://t.co/x5VYAFfyuR pic.twitter.com/1wQFl8z9Zn

Freakiness.
Not sure enough people are realizing how freaky it is that Sewell weighed 331 at his pro day and carried it like 310-315. 20-years old Week 1..
— Brandon Thorn (@BrandonThornNFL) April 7, 2021
At least one more over is afoot.
Has to make you think with the 7.9M being added in June they're planning on doing at least one more move before or right after the draft. Not anything really expensive but someone who could provide an impact. Maybe at OT, DE or DT. Could be waiting to see how the draft plays out. https://t.co/USRQFD1J50

A more-normal offseason is on the docket.
While negotiations are ongoing between the NFL & NFLPA regarding this offseason, the expectation is that there will be some on-field work – passing camps and OTAs – this spring, sources say. Health and safety protocols will be paramount, but the plan is for some in-person work.
— Ian Rapoport (@RapSheet) April 7, 2021
Not wrong.
#vikings could have two rookie guards and I’d feel much more comfortable with them instead of Dozier and Samia.
— Ali Siddiqui (@asiddiqui15) April 7, 2021
Bears WR could be on the move.
The #Bears are discussing trades involving WR Anthony Miller, per @RapSheet
— NFL Stats (@NFL_Stats) April 7, 2021
In-person dudes.
The following players have accepted invitations to attend the draft in Cleveland: Trey Lance, Mac Jones, Ja'Marr Chase, Devonta Smith, Kyle Pitts, Christian Barmore, Gregory Rousseau, Micah Parsons, Caleb Farley, Patrick Surtain.
This is the 'first group' to accept, per @NFL345.
— Ari Meirov (@MySportsUpdate) April 7, 2021
The last big Vikings FA heads elsewhere.
#Eagles are signing former #Vikings LB Eric Wilson, sources say. One-year deal worth up to $3.25 million. Wilson heads to Philly after registering 122 tackles and three INTs for Minnesota last year.
— Mike Garafolo (@MikeGarafolo) April 7, 2021
Another former Viking finds a home. Surprised it wasn’t Philadelphia — that’s where everybody else goes.

The decimated 2017 draft class.
With the departures of Ifeadi Odenigbo and Jaleel Johnson this offseason, Dalvin Cook is the only member of the Vikings' 11-man 2017 draft class still with the team.
That's…not ideal.
— Will Ragatz (@WillRagatz) April 7, 2021
PFF Draft Piece.
Investigating past draft success, and what it means for 2021 👀
2021 is a good class for QB, WR, and OT. Not so much for DL and RB.
