Viking Fans Have Unusual Preferences Ahead of 2021 NFL Draft

The only thing that is for certain pertaining to the draft “wants” of Minnesota Vikings fans is this: Fans emphatically want the franchise to draft an offensive lineman with their 1st-Round pick.
The “unusual” aspect is that the enthusiasm for a new quarterback is very low — despite how exciting a young passer would pivot the franchise’s future.
For starters, the bulk of Vikings brains believe that general manager Rick Spielman will trade the 14th pick and move back on Thursday night.
Remember that — it’s the official fan prediction. Rick Spielman will trade down, marking the fourth time in his career that he has done so in the 1st Round (since 2012, the commencement of his formal GM gig).
On the whole, the fan base does not want another cornerback, unless Patrick Surtain II falls down the board. He was mentioned in the comments of this poll.
If the first pick of the 1st Round for the Vikings is a cornerback, will you….?

A comedic effect will ensue if it’s a cornerback — again — for the Vikings.
In the most lopsided poll of the day, Minnesotans believe that Spielman will select an offensive player, not a defensive one, in the 1st Round.
The Vikings first pick of the night will be a player on which side of the ball? Your prediction — not what you want.

The unusual part of the polling event? Again, the fans largely do not want a replacement quarterback. Evidently, the “silent majority” prefers Kirk Cousins.
As a matter of Cousins v. Lance — respondents chose Cousins, even with a stipulation.
If you could somehow subtract the idea of preexisting contracts, who would you rather have as the Vikings QB in 2021? Pretend that there is a clean slate.

Given the choice of Alijah Vera-Tucker or Trey Lance, fans chose unthinkably chose AVT.
As a Viking fan, which 1st-Round pick would make you happier on draft night?

By a wider margin, it’s Penei Sewell over Lance.
Which player would you rather see the Vikings end up with, if things transpire out of the ordinary?

By a smidgen, though, the Vikings body politic would take Justin Fields over Rashawn Slater.
If the Vikings slide up some spots, which player would rather see drafted at #14?

On another note, the sizzle of Alabama WR DeVonta Smith supersedes that of LB Micah Parsons.
Who is a better selection for the Vikings if the team stays put at #14?

But more would prefer Parsons over EDGE rusher, Kwity Paye.

However, we like Paye more than Miami’s Jaelan Phillips.
As a Viking fan, I'd be happier with this player, _________ ________, in the 1st Round.

What the fans really want — is an offensive lineman. The results confirm.

This one proves that OL is more important than DL for the Vikings in the fans’ eyes.

A realistic foursome shows that fans prefer Darrisaw.
You're a Viking fan and the board falls to #14 with these four men available. Who do you want?
— Dustin Baker (@DustBaker) April 27, 2021
But Rashawn Slater is available, he is “the guy.”

All in all, the enthusiasm for Fields/Lance quarterback is low. The need for offensive line transcends the defensive line.
In order, Vikings fans prefer these men on Thursday night: Rashawn Slater, Christian Darrisaw, Alijah-Vera Tucker (assuming Sewell is not available).
