After making it through a rough 2020 NFL season, we thought we’d be able to put COVID behind us, but it is once again rearing its ugly head. Saturday night’s practice is part of the league-wide “Back Together” program in which fans will be in attendance to celebrate life and football finally getting back to normal.

Well, it won’t quite be normal for Vikings fans anymore. Rookie QB Kellen Mond has been announced to have tested positive for COVID-19, and as an effect, three of the Vikings quarterbacks will not be practicing tonight, including Kirk Cousins. Reports are saying that Jake Browning will be taking all of tonight’s snaps.

With training camp officially underway, the NFL has attempted to put precautions in place, but these positive tests will inevitably happen. Head coach Mike Zimmer spoke on his desire for the players to get vaccinated:

”With this delta variant, the way that it is right now, and the people that are getting infected, I think it is extremely important that everyone gets vaccinated.”

As more updates come out on this situation, VikingsTerritory will have all the news.
