Our Staff Prediction for Vikings at Panthers

Bob Donnan-USA TODAY Sports

The VikingsTerritory collective staff prediction for the Minnesota Vikings date with the Carolina Panthers is ready.

Minnesota can hop back to .500 in 2021 with a win over Carolina in a game that would restart “new season” vibes if it goes the Vikings way.

The writers at VikingsTerritory predict the Vikings will notch their third win of the season. Last week, we picked the Vikings to win by 17 over the Detroit Lions. Minnesota won by two.

All but one of our contributors picked Minnesota to win over Carolina this week. Bob Sansevere believes the Panthers will outlast the Vikings.

Here’s how the panel sees the score for Week 6:

Mathematically en masse, we predict the Vikings top the Panthers by a score of 24-19.

Here are the season standings for our writers’ predictions:

Sean Borman most accurately predicted the outcome last week, forecasting a 24-16 win by the Vikings over Lions. Minnesota won 19-17. Bob Sansevere foresaw the game as close — the only member of the panel to do so. But he chose Detroit to prevail. They didn’t.

The Vikings are currently 2.5-point favorites to defeat the Panthers at Bank of America Stadium on Sunday.
