Our Staff Prediction for Seahawks at Vikings

Joe Nicholson-USA TODAY Sports

The VikingsTerritory collective staff prediction for the Minnesota Vikings date with the Seattle Seahawks is ready.

Minnesota faces desperation in Week 3, losing two heartbreakers out of the gate in 2021. The docket gets no easier as Russell Wilson heads to Minneapolis, a man whose team has never lost to the Vikings while he’s in charge. The Wilson Seahawks are 7-0 against Minnesota.

But the writers at VikingsTerritory predict the Vikings will notch their first win of the season. Last week, we picked the Cardinals to win by three, and Arizona was victorious 34-33.

Nine contributors picked Minnesota to win whereas three believe Wilson moves to 8-0 versus the Vikings.

Here’s how the panel sees the score for Week 3:

Mathematically en masse, we predict the Vikings edge the Seahawks by a score of 29-28.

Here are the season standings for our writers’ predictions:

Wes Johnson most accurately predicted the outcome last week, forecasting a 33-31 win by the Cardinals over the Vikings. Minnesota lost to Arizona 34-33.

It’s go-time for the Vikings. Head coach Mike Zimmer is already embroiled in “hot seat” chatter — at least according to oddsmakers — and an 0-3 start would only intensify it.

You know things are rough for the head-to-head matchup when stats like this are out there:

Dustin Baker is a political scientist who graduated from the University of Minnesota in 2007. He hosts a podcast with Bryant McKinnie, which airs every Wednesday with Raun Sawh and Sally from Minneapolis. His Viking fandom dates back to 1996. Listed guilty pleasures: Peanut Butter Ice Cream, ‘The Sopranos,’ and The Doors (the band).
