Former Vikings TE Plots Comeback
Bucky Hodges

A tight end who spent all of the 2017 offseason with the Minnesota Vikings is attempting an NFL comeback.

His name is Bucky Hodges, and he was drafted in the 6th Round of the 2017 NFL Draft by the Vikings. In his career, he also landed with the Panthers, Jets (twice), and Steelers.

The news of Hodges’ plans was tweeted by Tom Pelissero of NFL Network on Saturday.

Oddly, even though Hodges joined four separate NFL teams in his career, he never played a down of regular season football.

For a while, Hodges was highly-touted out of college. Five years ago, Bleacher Report theorized Hodges as one of the top TE prospects in the country coming from Virginia Tech.

He’s a humongous man, standing 6’6″ and was listed around 260 pounds during his rookie season. The scouting report for Hodges noted his skillset was akin to a big-bodied wide receiver.

Hodges was selected by the Vikings in the 2017 draft 19 picks before defensive end Ifeadi Odenigbo.

The ex-Hokie will turn 27 this August.
