Cordarrelle Patterson Personally Asks for Vikings Reunion

Former Minnesota Vikings wide receiver and special teams savant, Cordarrelle Patterson, point-blank asked for a reunion with the team on Thursday.

There is no ambiguity here or secondhand hearsay — he asked for a conversation with Minnesota’s front office.

It is unclear if the Vikings have the funds to pursue Patterson. The franchise recently restructured Adam Thielen’s contract to make room for Arizona Cardinals long-time cornerback, Patrick Peterson. The 30-year-old Cardinals Patrick signed with the Vikings on St. Patrick‘s Day.

Patterson — also 30 years old — spent four seasons with Minnesota before heading to the Las Vegas Raiders, New England Patriots, and Chicago Bears.

He has tallied eight kick-return touchdowns in his seven-year career. Patterson has also accounted for 18 total rushing and receiving touchdowns. When he arrived in New England, head coach Bill Belichick often used Patterson as a running back — a first for the wide receiver.

Notably, Patterson [with the Bears] torched the Vikings for a 104-yard kick-return touchdown last year to start the 2nd Half in Chicago. Minnesota won the game 19-16, the team’s first win in The Windy City since 2017.

If the Vikings did “make the call” and “move more money around,” Patterson would instantly vie for the Vikings WR3 position and assuredly nail down the team’s longstanding special teams returning woes.

Patterson is an unrestricted free agent.
