All the Vikings News: April 24

The following is news applicable to the Minnesota Vikings on April 24, 2021 — via tweet. This is updated throughout the day.
Lance remains intriguing.
Darren Wolfson: "I think if Trey Lance is staring them in the face at 14, I think they would pull the trigger."
— vikesinsider (@vikesinsider) April 24, 2021
An educated guess.
If I had to guess the starting offensive line next season based on who I think we get in the draft.
Hill – AVT – Bradbury – Cleveland – O’Neil

The Vikings have a few of these.
The 5 Bedrock Positions:
What GMs look for when trying to build an organization
1. QB
2. Elite Edge
3. Shutdown Corner
4. Book-End Offensive Tackle
5. Downfield Receving Threat— John Kazar (@KazarNFL) April 24, 2021
High praise for a potential Viking.
Kwity Paye is one of the best players in the 2021 NFL Draft. And his journey to this point is an incredible one. Great work telling it by @TheHallieG https://t.co/eggef48vaN

Even steven.
If #MIN keeps their picks as is, this will be their third straight draft w/double digit draft picks
Picks by year:
2021 – 10
2020 – 15
2019 – 12They’ve drafted offense/defense evenly from 2019-2020
13 picks have been offense
13 picks have been defense

Andre Patterson doesn’t really care about your 3DT opinions.
Patterson on the upcoming draft: "With defensive ends, I’ve had success all through the draft. So it’s not just that we have to get a guy at 14 for it to work." pic.twitter.com/DezdbZnrAG

For Ragatz, Brown was probably too expensive — in multiple ways.
Orlando Brown Jr. and Alejandro Villanueva are no longer options for the #Vikings, but that's OK. Brown never made sense from a scheme fit and cost perspective, and Villanueva is almost 33 years old.
I'd much rather have a first round OL on a rookie deal. https://t.co/683GSjOryS
— Will Ragatz (@WillRagatz) April 23, 2021
A simple outbidding.
If you put all this on the rich hill chart, it makes Orlando Brown worth about a 2nd round pick. It's just a million picks because it's awkward to make exact change in the draft.
A lot of people pitched a 14/27 swap for Brown, this outbids that https://t.co/m7B3edcqWV
— Luke Braun (@LukeBraunNFL) April 23, 2021
The Vikings and Ravens always barter.
Slater and Sewell are off the board, I assume. I would.
— Darren Wolfson (@DWolfsonKSTP) April 24, 2021
OL theories. He’s speaking about LT Eric Fisher in the first two sentences.
I will check again. That Achilles rehab can't be a joke. Need to check on Schwartz too. Could go good guard in draft, move O'Neill to LT (need to pay him anyway) and find a RT.
— Darren Wolfson (@DWolfsonKSTP) April 23, 2021
Sosa pulls out the nostalgia.
What kind of numbers would Kirk Cousins have with this OL? #Vikings pic.twitter.com/Z10WKpClBI
— Rick Sosa (@sosarick) April 23, 2021
Folks always — for some reason — try to savage MIN for not springing on Rodgers.
Daunte Culpepper threw for 4,717 yards and 39 TDs in 2004 at the age of 27 for the #Vikings
They didn't "pass" on Aaron Rodgers https://t.co/uzBzl8p8tP
— Adam Patrick (@adampatrickNFL) April 24, 2021
Move Cleveland back to LT, he says.
“Vikings missed out on Orlando Brown JR! Oh the humanity!”
Bro just play Ezra Cleveland at his natural position of LT.
This isn’t hard.
— Realistic Randy (@realistic_randy) April 23, 2021
Museum opening back up.
The #VikingsMuseum will officially reopen on April 29, 2021!
— Minnesota Vikings (@Vikings) April 23, 2021
Harsh words for Spielman.
#Chiefs line sucked in the Super Bowl, and at least on paper they fixed it in 2 months.
Spielman has been the GM since 2012 and the #Vikings O-line still stinks.
2 months vs 10 years.
Yet he’s a top 10 GM 🙄🙄
— Ted Glover (@purplebuckeye) April 23, 2021
Move O’Neill to LT, he says.
Don’t worry everybody I’m your LT of the future #Vikings pic.twitter.com/81ldfG146J
— Rick Sosa (@sosarick) April 24, 2021
Realism.
Vikings will not get 2 OL starters plus an Edge starter in this draft. They will probably get 1 OL starter and an Edge at best so that other OL starter will hopefully be Eric Fisher or James Carpenter depending on where they play Cleveland
— Vikings Spin (@vikingsspin) April 23, 2021
NFL.com’s Chad Reuter says it’ll be Slater for the Vikings.
Reuter has Rashawn Slater falling to the Vikings at #14 in his 7 Rd mock because he is only 6'4 and has short arms for an OT. Says Wirfs fell for similar reasons last year. I'd do cartwheels if this happens lol https://t.co/WYIIpbRlzc
— Vikings Spin (@vikingsspin) April 24, 2021
Confirmation of what we’ve theorized.
Darren Wolfson: "Rick [Spielman] is going to make every effort possible to move back into the 2nd round."
— vikesinsider (@vikesinsider) April 24, 2021
James Hudson is the guy, according to Corey Chavous.
Draft analyst and former #Vikings safety Corey Chavous offers this about Cincinnati tackle James Hudson, whom he identified as a possible third-round pick. “If the Vikings got him, he’d start right away,’’ Chavous said.
