Looking for a Place to Vent with other Vikings Fans this Off-season?

If you’re reading this you’re online and a Vikings fan, which means that you’re exactly the person we’re looking for to join our new (ish) Vikings online community, VikesGeist. VikesGeist is a multi-faceted Vikings fan community that has some software that we’re sure you’re used to, but some stuff that perhaps you’re not. Let’s break it down.

Click Here to Create a New Account!

The network is basically four separate things and you can access all three with a free account that takes about two-seconds to create (you can use your Facebook/Twitter account):

Message Board

First, there’s the message board. To start we’ll be focusing mainly on the Vikings News section, though we also have sections for Fantasy Football, the general NFL, Video Games (etc.) and will be expanding to others as we grow and add partners!

Here’s the Vikings News Section: https://purpleptsd.com/forums/forum/vikings-newsdiscussion/

And the general message board: https://purpleptsd.com/forums/

The message board is pretty simple to use, you’ll be able to create topics by going to the bottom of the forum and entering a subject/post content there. It’s pretty simple. You can click on other topics and comment. You receive points for activity and we’ll be giving away a Vikings gnome to the person at the end of the month with the most points (for that month), as well as fun weekly prizes!

Getting back to the main forum/topic:

When you’ve commented on something you’ll want to navigate to the top of the page and click the “Vikings News/Discussion” button directly under the headline for the topic you’re in (for example, if the topic is “Morning Joes: The Saints/Kicker Trade” you’ll see directly under that title it says “News > Forum > Vikings News/Discussion > Morning Joes: The Saints…”

Click the “Vikings News/Discussion” to go back to the general forum, otherwise your comment will show up as posted and you can go from there (or refresh/hit f5) to see responses to your comment.

If you have questions about creating an account, click HERE

You can use your Facebook/Twitter accounts to register, it takes two seconds!

Using the Chat Room Function

On the bottom left of your screen, you’ll see ‘Chat (X number of people online)’. That is our chat function and it will be used for live events like games (you can chat in the message board as well, or post your thoughts on the social media side, too)!

Your account for the message board works for the chat room (and social media side), so you won’t have to worry about making another account!

Social Media/Global Activity Board:

We have a global activity channel that’ll basically remind you of Twitter. It shows the activity of everyone on the network, and as you add friends/followers you can see what they’re up to there as well! Here’s the link to the global activity channel, you can also access this via the menu above:

User Account

You’ll also want to personalize your account as much as possible when you do register!

It’s pretty self-explanatory but for an example of a finished profile click here:

Add as much or as little content as you want! The more you participate the more activity/myCRED points you get. We will be doing weekly and monthly giveaways for people with the most activity each week and month, so you’ll definitely want to keep an eye on that as well!

You can also private message via your account, add friends and follow people. You can let everyone know your thoughts and what you’re up to via your profile page and via the global activity page!

User Groups

From there we also have the ability for users to create groups!

If you’ve used Facebook or Google Plus, you’ll be familiar with user groups and the best example of this is the BleacherReport Gang user group that was created by some of the fans of purplePTSD from one of our cross-posting partners in BleacherReport.com.
