Is Jefferson the OROY? Saints WR Michael Thomas says so

Let me get this out of the way. There is zero reality in which Minnesota Vikings rookie phenom receiver Justin Jefferson is NOT the offensive rookie of the year this season. None. He’s been breaking records in a way that Minnesotans haven’t seen since Randy Moss in 1998, and the league hasn’t seen since Odell Beckham Jr.

As we saw last weekend, Jefferson is one of just FIVE wide receivers EVER to put up over 1,000 yards in their first 12 games. He’s done so despite not being a major part of the offensive game plan until Week 3, and despite being targeted far less than other receivers on the above list or this season.

I’m / we’re not alone when it comes to our crowning of Jefferson. New Orleans Saints receiver Michael Thomas, who was on the All-Rookie team in 2016, and who holds the single season record for cacthes with 149, chimed in the OROY race after (presumably) seeing Jefferson go all Jefferson on the Jags.

Jefferson caught wind of Thomas’ plaudits and raised the roof or clicked on a Fortnite or whatever it is you teens do in lieu of actual human interaction (then again I’ve written 167 articles since yesterday so, I’m mainly just insecure about my Twitter skillz (was that cool? Did I do it right?)), and was pleased.

While we all can’t vote on JJets for the Rookie of the Year, we can vote for him for the Pro Bowl! So, follow the below while I struggle to figure out how to retweet.

Let’s hope that Jefferson further solidifies his ROY status against Michael Thomas and the Saints in a couple of weeks!
