Eagles vs Vikings: A Gambler’s Guide

Season Records: O/U: 2-3, ATS: 2-3, WC ATS: 4-1

Full disclosure, I forgot to post last week’s Gambler’s Guide. Personal stuff intervened. Scout’s honor here, I was right about the Viking’s game! Both parts! However, my perfect season wasn’t meant to be in the Wild Card picks, as I lost my first game. I picked the Browns at +3.5. I don’t want to talk about it.

But now we are on to week six, and I’ve got some “hot takes” about this Vikings/Eagles game. Let’s delve in.

Over/Under: 44

I have a rough time picking these. I think this is one of the game’s where I take the over, but the game ends up being much more of a defensive struggle.

This game will be super fun for all NFL fans. Tons of big plays and deep shots. Give me a final score of 37-44, in a massively fun shootout.

The Spread: Philadelphia +2

Did you see I said 44-37? The Eagles’ pass defense is terrible. It’s banged up and was thin to begin with. The Vikings defense is great but Xavier Rhodes has been on and off this year and Mike Hughes is still basically a rookie.Carson Wentz can extend enough plays and find guys deep to score bunches of points.

I think Cousins makes some big mistake, because this is a game against a winning team. The Eagles win 44-37, despite the Vikings throwing the ball and running effectively.

WC ATS: Houston +5

Houston plays Kansas City this week. The Chiefs are coming off an embarrassing loss to Indianapolis, where Indy hurt Mahomes. I think Watson will take over in this game and out duel a limping Mahomes. Give me the Texans 28-27 in a barn burner.
