News emerged from TCO Performance Center today that added fuel to the fire of rampant and baseless trade speculation. Minnesota Vikings’ wide receiver Stefon Diggs missed Wednesday’s practice with a non-injury designation. Diggs was one of two non-participants on the team’s first injury report of the week.
Diggs started the season slow, catching six passes (on 12 targets) for 101 yards through the first three games. On Sunday he set season-highs in Chicago, hauling in 7 passes for 108 yards, but lost a fumble. It’s unclear why he was unable to attend practice on Wednesday. While rumors and trade speculation surrounding Diggs continue to circulate across social media, there remains zero incentive for the Vikings to consider moving him.
Safety Anthony Harris was the team’s other non-participant at practice. He suffered a quad injury against Chicago that head coach Mike Zimmer described as “a bruise.” Starting guard Josh Kline returned to practice after missing Sunday’s game with a concussion, and linebacker Kentrell Brothers (wrist/hamstring) also returned to the field. Both were limited participants in practice. Also limited were center Garret Bradbury (shoulder) and cornerback Mackensie Alexander (elbow/groin). Defensive backs Xavier Rhodes (knee) and Jayron Kearse (back) each practiced in full.
