Multiple sources are reporting Minnesota Vikings cornerback Mike Hughes will return to game action today. Adam Schefter of ESPN was first on the news.
Hughes has not played since Week 6 of last season. The 2018 first-round pick suffered a torn ACL on October 14th, 2018 in a home game against the Arizona Cardinals.
The Vikings secondary will be without nickel cornerback Mackensie Alexander (elbow) today, so Hughes’ return is a welcome addition. Head coach Mike Zimmer said Hughes has been working at both nickel and cornerback and getting him back will allow the defense to play in more dime packages (six defensive backs) when warranted.
