Minnesota Vikings Sign David Parry, Release Dylan Bradley

By Sean Borman

The Minnesota Vikings made changes to the depth of the defensive line today, inking nose tackle David Parry to a free-agent contract. To make room for Parry on the roster, the Vikings released defensive tackle Dylan Bradley – a 2017 practice squad member. Ian Rapoport of the NFL Network reported the Parry signing Wednesday.

Parry, 26, was a fifth-round pick of the Indianapolis Colts in the 2015 NFL Draft. The former Stanford Cardinal started all 32 games his first two seasons. He collected 49 tackles, including eight for loss, and four sacks.

His career took a turn when Parry was arrested last offseason and charged with felony robbery and felony unlawful use of transportation. He was later waived by the Colts before the start of the 2017 season but signed with the New Orleans Saints and joined their practice squad. He appeared in one game for the Saints before he was placed on injured reserve.

The 6-2, 317-pound lineman will look to get his career back on track in Minnesota. He will provide the Vikings with more depth behind nose tackle Linval Joseph. Head coach Mike Zimmer has indicated multiple times this offseason that he plans on using more of a defensive line rotation this season. Adding Parry gives Zimmer the following interior d-line depth.

  • Sad to see Bradley go, but I like this signing. Parry and Johnson are of a similar size, but Johnson supposedly plays more like a 3-technique under tackle while Parry is pure 1-tech nose tackle, the only one on the roster besides Joseph himself.

  • I like this signing also ~ And Linval can use a few more breaks if they have someone who can fill in without a huge drop off ~ Also I wouldn't sleep on Jaleel either ~ This seems to be shaping up to be a fine overall interarea DT unit ~
