The Minnesota Vikings will play an NFC South opponent in the Divisional round.
The first NFC Wild Card playoff game made the Vikings playoff picture more clear.
The No. 6 seed Atlanta Falcons upset the No. 3 seed Los Angeles Rams 26-13 Saturday, so the Falcons will travel to Philadelphia to take on the Eagles next weekend. Since the Eagles are the No. 1 seed they play the lowest remaining seed, which is the Falcons.
That means the Vikings will face either the No. 4 seed New Orleans Saints or the No. 5 seed Carolina Panthers. The Vikings have played each team once already this season. Minnesota handed New Orleans its first loss of the season in a 29-19 Week 1 thumping. Then in Week 14 the Vikings suffered a 31-24 road loss to the Panthers. That was the last time the Vikings lost a game.
The Vikings will be watching closely as the NFC South rivals face off Sunday. The Panthers take on the Saints in New Orleans in at 3:40pm (CST). The game is on FOX.
The victors will take on the Vikings next Sunday, January 14th in Minneapolis at 3:40pm (CST).
