Brian O’Neill, the Minnesota Vikings’ second-round pick in the 2018 NFL Draft, has taken over as the team’s starting right tackle. Rashod Hill, who started the season as the starter, will move to a swing tackle role.

O’Neill got the start Sunday after receiving first-team reps in practice all week.

O’Neill was a standout in training camp as well as the preseason. He played well when he subbed for injured starters early in the season. O’Neill was forced into starting duty in Week 6 after Riley Reiff suffered a foot injury. He started the next three games at right tackle with Hill at left tackle. When Reiff returned to the lineup today it was O’Neill who remained with the first team. O’Neill has outperformed Hill, who played better on the left side in place of Reiff.
