Vikings Deny New York Giants Permission to Interview QB Coach Kevin Stefanski

According to Adam Schefter of ESPN, the Minnesota Vikings have denied the request of the New York Giants to interview quarterbacks coach Kevin Stefanski for their offensive coordinator vacancy.

Stefanski has been a member of the Vikings coaching staff since 2006. The 35 year-old began his NFL coaching career as an assistant to head coach Brad Childress. In 2009 he was promoted to Assistant QB Coach. He then served as the Tight Ends Coach from 2014-2015. In 2016 he was named Running Backs Coach before being named the Quarterbacks Coach before the 2017 season.

  • I'd say the coaches need a union, too, if they don't already have one. At least, the assistant coaches do.

    • NFL Coaches Association (NFLCA). I have no idea what kind of power they have, but they would be smart to change some of these interview rules. The QB coach to OC/DC being a "lateral" move should be revised, as well as interviewing during the postseason, at least IMO.

  • Cousins, Bridgewater, and Manzel. Cut loose Bradford, and Keenum, and Sloter.

    • I would LOVE that personally, but the team would be wise to try and recoup some draft picks by tagging-and-trading Keenum (if possible) and trading Sloter. Also depends on if Teddy's contract is tolled

    • Manziel has worked under DeFilippo before... and he's a double threat QB which could make the offensive line look pretty good if he's successful. Not many folks want to take a chance on him though, which is understandable considering his past
