Vikings WR Cayleb Jones Suspended For Four Games

Less than two weeks ago, the Minnesota Vikings found out linebacker Kentrell Brothers would be suspended for PED use. On Monday, the team found out another depth player will miss games.

Cayleb Jones, 25, has been suspended for the first four weeks of the 2018 season for violating the league’s substance abuse policy. Like Brothers, he’s eligible to return to the team on September 28th, following the Week 4 game at Los Angeles.

The Vikings signed the wide receiver to the practice squad in December of 2016. He was signed to a futures/reserve contract following the season and spent the 2017 season on the team’s practice squad. He showed promise in training camp last summer. Minnesota again signed Jones to a futures deal after the 2017 season.

Jones, if kept on the roster, will have a difficult time making the team. The Vikings currently have the following depth at wide receiver (including UDFAs):
