Keenum had a miraculous 2017 season for the Vikings. He appeared in 15 games, compiled an 11-3 record as a starter and led the team to the NFC Championship Game. He threw for 3,547 yards with 22 touchdowns and seven interceptions. His completion percentage was 67.6% and his QB rating of 71.3 was second in the NFL.
It was one of the top five single-seasons in franchise history.
However, there will be no encore.
The former $2 million-man is now a Denver Bronco. He’s the first domino to fall in what will be a long line of quarterback signings in this year’s free agency period. ProFootballTalk is reporting Keenum will earn between $18-20 million per season. That’s quite the raise for the 30 year-old.
His deal will become official on Wednesday.
According to Mike Klis of Denver media, Keenum’s deal is for 2-years, $36 million.
Heard from prominent agent Broncos deal is expected to be 2 years for at least $36 million for Case Keenum. Great move by player (betting on self). Great move by team (flexibility to improve rest of roster). #9sports
