Wow, what a fun day! Lots of action. With roster cuts already in progress, here’s a last-minute Vikings 53-man roster projection, which includes Friday’s trade for cornerback Tramaine Brock:

Quarterback

The Vikings rolled with two quarterbacks last year and I don’t see that changing this year. Taylor Heinicke is practice squad eligible and I don’t see teams lining up to snag him off waivers. Plus, there’s always Mitch Leidner.

Running Back
Fullback
Wide Receiver

There’s still a chance Wright gets traded, but we’ve been saying that for years. If he remains with the Vikings, he’ll fill a roster spot, at least until Floyd returns from suspension.

Tight End

I went with Hodges over Kyle Carter because I think the Vikings have a shot at getting Carter to the practice squad, which is not the case with Hodges. Carter is currently the more polished player.

Left Tackle
Left Guard
Center
Right Guard
Right Tackle

The surprise on the offensive line is Willie Beavers making the roster over Aviante Collins. Last season, Beavers was cut after training camp but earned a spot on the practice squad. After the team suffered multiple injuries on the line, he was “called up” to play guard. This season he’s been playing at right tackle, so there’s versatility there. Plus, Beavers is showing something T.J. Clemmings did not — improvement.

Left Defensive End
Right Defensive End
Defensive Tackle (Nose)
Defensive Tackle (3-Technique)
Linebacker (Will)
Linebacker (Mike)
Linebacker (Sam)
Cornerback
Free Safety

Anthony Harris is the odd man out after the Vikings acquired Brock for a seventh-round draft pick.

Strong Safety
Kicker
Punter
Long Snapper
