Pros

Good size and build for an NFL quarterback

Cannon for an arm

5th year Senior with plenty of experience

Ability to make quick decisions in a busy pocket

Cons

Accuracy – not only with the deep ball, but inconsistent on the short passes as well

Came up short in big games when it mattered the most

Odd throwing motion similar to Philip Rivers

Way too inconsistent, some games he looks like a 1st round pick, others like he shouldn’t even be on the field

Ceiling could be as a back-up in the NFL[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text css=”.vc_custom_1456111300865{padding-top: 15px !important;background-color: #dbdbdb !important;}”]

The Vikings Slant

Vikings fit? Possibly

The Vikings current quarterback depth is a question mark. Do they roll with Taylor Heinicke and release Shaun Hill? Or do they go another year with the old-timer as the back-up? If the Vikings choose the former, it’s not unlikely that they draft a mid-to-late round guy like Hogan to compete for the backup quarterback spot. Though Heinicke has shown glimpses during preseason action, as a whole, Hill’s time on the field been inconsistent. And the Vikings may not see him as someone they could trust to take over a game.

Though Hogan may be a career backup, that isn’t necessarily a horrible thing; he has the tools to enter the game in a pinch and the intelligence to be an asset on the sidelines. With Teddy having a clear hold on the starting spot for the foreseeable future, it’s not likely a guy like Hogan would be looked at to contribute unless absolutely necessary. A big arm, quick decision making and good pocket presence make the Stanford product a perfect mid-round prospect that could sit on the bench for a few years and eventually marinate into something greater.[/vc_column_text][vc_column_text]Draft Season Logo[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row]
