MICHAEL VICK RUMOR UPDATE: The Script Has Flipped

Late last night, former Vikings writer and friend of the site Ryan Boser caused a stir when he said on Twitter that he had information involving a Michael Vick visit to Winter Park today.

Unafraid to address rumors, we posted an article last night that acknowledged his tweet as a rumor to keep track of. Today, our own Adam Patrick addressed the idea of what Vick might be able to accomplish in this Vikings offense that is so suddenly without their starting quarterback.

While there is still nothing definitive on how the Vikings plan to proceed with managing their quarterback crisis, and if bringing in an outsider is a part of those plans, the script has flipped on the Michael Vick rumor.

According to Andrew Krammer of the Star Tribune, the Vikings are not expected to host Vick to a visit today.

While Boser has essentially admitted defeat via his Twitter account, we believe that Boser was not just making things up, and wonder if “today” doesn’t end up being the key word in Krammer’s tweet.

I will tell you though, while we are disappointed in the harsh response Boser will surely receive for passing along this bad information, I think the consensus in the Vikings Territory writers room is a little bit of relief… none of us were really excited about the idea of watching Vick suit up as a Viking.

It could still happen, as can a great many possible scenarios, but for now we are left to wonder what lies ahead for the Vikings quarterback situation.

At the moment, and evening of Joel Stave and Brad Sorensen playing preseason football is what lies ahead.

Michael Vick is nothing but an animal abusing bully. I’ve been a Vikings fan my entire life. If you bring that low life on board – count me out. What a disgrace

Lady your suppose to forgive people for their misdeeds if they honestly try and make a change in their life for the better. He has severed his time, and still does huge things for animal groups today many years after all that happened. No one is perfect. Everyone makes mistakes. Forgive and move on.

Stave hurt…”Joel Stave is questionable to return with a hand injury.”
We’re down to Sorenson, who’s been on the team about a week total? Oh, Shawn Hill is also available…
Should’ve signed another QB this week, for this reason alone.

Mckinnon can play qb.

Would you really want to put him in, behind the 4th preseason game O-line? Or anyone you’d like to keep on the team, for that matter.

Good point about 4th preseason game. Tre Roberson can play qb also.

Then they should tell Tre to start warming up, no way does Hill go in if something happens to Sorenson.

O.K. blindly turn an eye to his thug life past. This guy was a never was, a less than a 60% percent completion rate lifetime, and never accomplished more than having a great marketing team. The Vikings Are better off hoping some diamond in the rough gets cut, bring back Bethel-Thomas. Ron Mexico stay home.

And if he can sever time, pay him to come in and cut out the part when Teddy got hurt

Folks, with the position they are in they are obligated to kick the tires of everyone breathing that can play QB. I feel the teams best option will be to role with Hill until Heinicke is able to go, but they need to check out the available veteran backups in case Hill gets broke in half next week. It’s all just another level of disaster planning. If Hill goes down they will need someone that can come in and play on short notice and they won’t get that from a rookie or 2nd year player. I would not expect a signing of any vested veterans until after week one is complete as the contract basically becomes a week by week deal at that point, but they should be bringing guys in now to prepare for that possibility.

I see 2 dislikes, is it about his thug life past, or the less than 60% completion rate and never proving anything other than good running quarterbacks are the equivalent of mediocre quarterbacks, both need a great defense. Which part about this guy being a bust am I wrong about?

Well, I mainly disliked it because of your suggestion that we bring Bethel-Thompson back. I did, however, click the dislike button on this post by mistake. Sorry.

I hashtagged vikings territory on other articles so that if Vick comes VT gets some credit for being one of the first to report it. 🙂

How is it that a Vikings territory writer can be so stupid? “none of us were really excited about watching Vick play in minnesota”….seriously? Bring in some real writers with real football knowledge please! Not someone concerned about his dog’s (named after a horrible receiver like percy) well being if Vick comes to the Vikes! To sit there and write this crap, and 100% believe that Hill, Stave, and Sorenson can give us a better season than Vick, is just an insult to people with real football knowledge and the great fans of the Vikings! All 3 of our QB options are rancid! Sure, Vick isnt 2004 Vick, but he could play circles around all 3 of the vikings options with his eyes closed and still win 3-5 more games this season then any 1 option we have right now! Go home, kiss the wife and kids, pet lil percy harvin up and down and tell him how you would take a losing season to make sure the bad man vick stays out of your lil doggies city, then grab a no.2, a piece of your kids construction paper, and start your career of writing over, and with a lil practice you may actually come up with something worthwhile…maybe, im guessing not!

I care not about Vick’s dog killing days. If he were the best option I’d be all for it. But I don’t believe he is. Right now Hill is the best option for the Vikings to beat Tennessee.
Or do you want a repeat performance of Josh Freeman?
All of your insults toward Adam are childish.

Vick has been given repeated chances to prove himself. I think that he has redeemed himself INRE the animal cruelty offenses. But he sure as heck did nothing to redeem himself as a starting QB. Horrible production coupled with too many turnovers. Hill is the better of the two, likely Stave as well.

Vick would be an intriguing option, but I dont think that’s a Speilman type of move. Aaron Murray and Austin Davis were recently cut by KC and Cleveland. A few more more notable players may get their walking papers too in the next couple days. The Vikings are sure to have one or even two guys signed by Friday. They’re going to run with Hill until he can’t. They’ll lean heavily on their defense and AP once again.

Wait hold on what about your Sins. You can sit hear and play the saint all you want but remember one day you will die and stand before Jesus and answer to your sins. You have lied, you have fornicated, you have stolen, you have did many things against the bible. You must Judge righteous and you are not. One day you will stand before God and answer to your Sins. Mick Vick will not be there it will just be you and God. What will you say then?

United we stand, and United we forgive. The bible says no Sin is higher than the other.
