MICHAEL VICK RUMOR UPDATE: The Script Has Flipped

Michael Vick Visiting Minnesota Vikings

Late last night, former Vikings writer and friend of the site Ryan Boser caused a stir when he said on Twitter that he had information involving a Michael Vick visit to Winter Park today.

Unafraid to address rumors, we posted an article last night that acknowledged his tweet as a rumor to keep track of. Today, our own Adam Patrick addressed the idea of what Vick might be able to accomplish in this Vikings offense that is so suddenly without their starting quarterback.

While there is still nothing definitive on how the Vikings plan to proceed with managing their quarterback crisis, and if bringing in an outsider is a part of those plans, the script has flipped on the Michael Vick rumor.

According to Andrew Krammer of the Star Tribune, the Vikings are not expected to host Vick to a visit today.

While Boser has essentially admitted defeat via his Twitter account, we believe that Boser was not just making things up, and wonder if “today” doesn’t end up being the key word in Krammer’s tweet.

I will tell you though, while we are disappointed in the harsh response Boser will surely receive for passing along this bad information, I think the consensus in the Vikings Territory writers room is a little bit of relief… none of us were really excited about the idea of watching Vick suit up as a Viking.

It could still happen, as can a great many possible scenarios, but for now we are left to wonder what lies ahead for the Vikings quarterback situation.

At the moment, and evening of Joel Stave and Brad Sorensen playing preseason football is what lies ahead.
