Laquon Treadwell was one of the most dominant receivers in the country this past season after returning from a devastating broken fibula and dislocated ankle in 2014. The Ole Miss wide receiver will give Teddy Bridgewater a big, physical target on the outside. He is one of the most difficult receivers to jam because he has a powerful frame, violent arms and exceptionally quick feet. Treadwell may not be the fastest pass-catcher in this class, but he is a very smooth athlete with great body control and hang time allowing him to be effective on 50-50 balls.
Bridgewater will love his big mitts and his ability to reel in passes outside of his body and in traffic. Treadwell incorporates head and hip fakes as he works hard to sell his routes on every snap. He is incredibly elusive after the catch showing good burst, acceleration and great vision. The ALL-SEC receiver has the strength and toughness to break tackles and turn short gains into long one.
Treadwell does more than catch passes. The All-American is highly competitive and gives 110% effort on every play, even as a run blocker. He loves to initiate contact and often drives his opponent backwards or even to the ground with his furious leg drive and outstanding arm extension.
The Vikings needed a wide receiver who plays big and Treadwell is a perfect fit. Few receivers use there body better to box out defenders than the Vikings newest first round pick affectionately known as “Megaquon”. The former five-star recruit and No. 1 receiver prospect has a natural feel for the position and knows how to work his way back to the ball. He has an uncanny way of being open even when he is covered. I love the pick and think Treadwell will be an immediate contributor for the Vikings.

Yeah, I was on the Doctson or Michael Thomas before Treadwell (though I was never a hater).
And I would have thought a tradeback (if a fair value deal was available ) made sense
But
A. On paper (and lets face it, we wont know until he plays) he makes at least decent sense for us (and he is not Fuller!)
B. Spielman and Zimmer have earned some slack. Yeah, if this was the TOA and Leslie Frazier I would be more worried.
C. You got to love this quote from Treadwell on when he got hurt [That was the only time I hung my head over my injury. We had lost the game, and I had a broken leg and a dislocated ankle. Our title hopes were dashed, and my season was over. That night, I had surgery. Then, I went back to work.]
Does not sound like a Prima Donna to me....Maybe in the end he just won`t have "it"...But it wont be for a lack of effort.
D. His result came in what is considered a tough division...He earned his yards/TDs the hard way
E. He is still only 20. And he is just a 1 year away from the injury...So in he has not been 100% (lets say only 90%) then with aging a bit and healing the last vestiges of the ankle problem (somebody an another site mentioned they had a similar ankle injury and it took 3 years to fully get back to normal) then we get a truly dominant WR at the end of the first round. I could live with that.
So....to sum up.
A. He is in the top group of WRs, within the top group you can argue who is your fave
B. Treadwell fits the type of receiver we need
C. Way too early to tell if he pans out
D. This passes the smell taste of being decent value at a position of need (not saying overall BPA, but not ridiculous...I have seen him at 12 on some big boards,
you, the amateur at home can make your own big board and disagree)
E Clearly there are legit concerns about athleticism (including but not limited to 40 speed)..But if part of it this is he is not fully healed...with time between now and
start of the season...He might become that much more explosive.

I generally agree with everything you said - wanted Doctson or Thomas but satisfied with Treadwell - but I must say that I wasn't too fond of those drops Jon Gruden highlighted on ESPN. Treadwell has got some work to do on route running, too, but I do like his after-the-catch ability and sheer violence; he reminds me of Peterson after contact.
MegaQuon it is! Teddy fell to us because of a bad pro day, he was the top qb going into the draft. Now MegaQuon falls to us, because of a bad 40, with a healing leg, hopefully we got another steal!!! He is the most physical wr this year! FYI, Chris Carter wasn't the fastest, but strong and good hands!
