INSTANT REACTION: Second Player Selected In The Sixth Round Is DT B.J. Dubose
With their second pick of the sixth round, the Minnesota Vikings selected defensive tackle B.J. Dubose out of Louisville.
At 6′ 4″ and 284 pounds, Dubose enters the NFL with a lot of people noticing his strength, versatility, and knack for sniffing out the run. In Mike Zimmer’s defense, it actually wouldn’t be overly surprising to see him play left defensive end in the base package, and then perhaps rotating to the middle on passing downs.
Dubose didn’t become a starter until his senior year, so the prevailing theory here is going to be that Mike Zimmer feels he can coach this kid up and that he is a prospect with nowhere to go but up.
The Vikings were in need of some depth along the defensive line and they now have some interesting additions in Dubose and third round selection Danielle Hunter.
