The Vikings, thus far, are holding true to their word and letting the craziness pass before jumping into the free agency frenzy.

According to Darren Wolfson, however, the team will play host to free agent linebacker Andrew Gachkar.

Gachkar was a seventh round pick of the San Diego Chargers in 2011 and has made a name for himself as a special teams ace and reserve player.

He also comes with an interesting story as he overcame Thoracic Outlet Syndrome, which is essentially a life threatening blood clot, of which he was diagnosed in 2007. Twenty hours of surgery and a removed rib later, it is considered an amazing feat that he is able to play professional football.

Gachkar could provide the type of presence on special teams that they have not really had since Heath Farwell’s departure to Seattle.
