Off-The-Field Issues

Adrian Peterson Releases Statement

The situation has already been discussed at great length. We’ll surely dissect it a lot more in the coming days and weeks.

For now, here is the Friday statement from Adrian Peterson regarding yesterday’s legal decision and his status in the NFL:

[quote_box_center]I was pleased to learn about Judge Doty’s decision.  It is a positive step in protecting players’ rights and preserving due process for all players.  It also brings me one step closer to getting back on the football field and playing the sport I love.  As I prepare for my return to football, I am still focused on my family and continue to work to become a better father every day.  I want to express my gratitude for all of the support I have received from the fans, NFLPA, Jeffrey Kessler, and my agents Ben Dogra, Tracy Lartigue, and Mark Heligman from Relativity Sports.[/quote_box_center]

The statement really says very little and offers little insight as to how this will all play out.

    1. All the statements I’ve read from Peterson seem to suggest to me that the man is delusional. He appears to me as if he considers himself a victim, and that the Vikings caused his situation. He even said in one interview that he has “lost a lot of money and someone needs to pay for that”. He seems oblivious to the fact that his endorsements weren’t cancelled by the Vikings or NFL,they were cancelled because he screwed up.This guy is in denial.
He can go and play wherever he damn well wants,I’m done with him.

  1. I don’t care what happens anymore. With the young talent, seemingly franchise qb in place, and coaching staff we’ll be ok. And, we won’t have to deal with this [email protected]$! EVERY off season and training camp. I’m done with this prick. Although not the best business decision, I hope the Vikings do whatever they can to stop him from playing if he indeed is trying to force himself out. Giving players the power to force themselves out of contracts is bad for the league.

    1. Jacksonville Jaguars is in the running back market, right now ! And by far the most cap room in the entire NFL ! Jags Interested In Moving Out Of No. 3 Pick ..Could that be a possibility to trade AP ? That spot would be sweet ! We could land Leonard Williams, DT, USC Best Player in the Draft. Can line up anywhere on DL…… Or should we get a QB if one fall’s to #3 Just kidding..! #3 and #11 and free some cap room and headaches..!!! That would be so sweet…!

  2. Yeah, no mention of the Vikings, or any teammates or anyone from the organization.
This whole damn thing started from him going over the line in whipping his 4 year old. I think it was bad because he was FOUR years old! But, overreacting was the biggest issue. Yes, that’s right. The courts handed down the punishment, that should be that. Should’ve been no more than 2 games, the NFL and Goodell screwed up…because of the Ray Rice crap. Because the NFL screwed that up! This ain’t gonna get any better until Goodell is gone.

  3. Dear AP,
Please, just go away. I understand what you did for this team, but you continue to tarnish it. Go, win a Super Bowl in Dallas (or whatever). I could care less. I am tired of this, I am tired of you. I was willing to stick by you (under a new contract), until you opened your mouth.
Please, continue to work to be a better person, I believe you are. I just really hope another 4 year old does not need to feel your wrath again.

  5. I don’t think Dallas will ever win a SB win Tony Fomo (fear of missing out) of the playoffs. That said, I don’t think Mn wants to send him there. Let it drag out and deactivate him if the trade value isn’t sufficient. He’ll be forced to retire.
