NFL Draft 2015

Adam’s First 2015 Mock Draft

Now that we have reinvented ourselves a little bit here at VT, and added some fun features, it is time we turn our attention to how the Vikings will do the same thing during the 2015 NFL offseason.

Of course, that means it is now open season for mock drafts, and we hope to bring you plenty of them between now and May.  I have completed my first attempt at a mock and you can CLICK HERE to read the whole thing.

The way the top ten selections shook out in my mock left the Vikings with a number of options including popular choices like WR DeVante Parker, CB P.J. Williams, and OT Andrus Peat.  I did not end up selecting any of these three, however, and encourage you to find out who was picked by visiting my mock draft page.

Also, don’t forget to check out Brett’s first mock draft.  He gave the Vikings a guy that I don’t even have going in the first round of my mock.  How’s that for variety?

  1. Sign free agents = CB – Byron Maxwell = G – Orlando Franklin – would like Mike Iupati but would cost to much and Orlando Franklin is a lot better than Charlie Johnson..sigh = RB – C.J. Spiller – He’s kind of like Matt Forte ..he can catch run n his block is ok n he would be good in Norv. Offense. Would love to have AP back but not with that kind of money..We can add more good players in free agency with that money. Sign = DE – Jason Pierre-Paul. Let Brian Robison go for more cap. Resign = DT – Tom Johnson = OL – Joe Berger..N may be free agent Rahim Moore next to Harrison Smith. He’s a upgrade from Robert Blanton..Would like to have Devin McCourty. but that would cost alot..So in reality free agents n what we can afford is.. N what we need is to trade AP or let him go to make more room for cap..N SIGN free agents = Of Needs = CB Byron Maxwell = G – Orlando Franklin = RB – C.J. Spiller = DE – Jason Pierre-Paul…why DE because, we need to pressure qb more !! I know we really need MLB n OT but the last 3 games Matt Kalil has shown some Progress..So let’s give him a chance.. So now to the draft = 11th – our # 1 draft pik WR DeVante Parker..N if Rick Spielman can do what he did in the past trading back in to 1st rd again..I will not mind getting Shaq Thompson, because he’s First class athleticism. Change of direction ability is at “freak”
Flashes great instincts and is always around the ball.Natural backpedaler and aggressive in coverage. Decisive player that flies like a missile,Fundamental tackler. Can be a good blitzer. Can played as safety, inside linebacker, outside linebacker, and running back. Tremendous versatility – Line him next to Harrison Smith or Anthony Barr , he would be good. N i know he has some inconsistency from a play-to-play but remember who is the vikings head can be fix ..The best spot for Shaq Thompson is at safety, cause he can make big play’s in the open. Also instead of Shaq Thompson,I don’t mind getting OT Andrus Peat but he won’t be there when we trade back in to 1st rd so maybe
La’el Collins, OT/G – LSU cause u can line him anywhere along the O-Line. N if we don’t trade back in to 1st rd n wait for day 2. Let’s get MLB Denzel Perryman,I know he’s small at Height: 5-11 but Weight: 244 lbs – average Weight for MLB – But Boy can he hit- closing speed and explosiveness as a hitter- good burst and solid angles to either sideline when asked to pursue plays on the edges. Good lower-body flexibility ,can move sideline to sideline pretty fast n quick n can also cover..He remind me of London Fletcher and Antoine Winfield, the way he tackle n play.. So the draft is = 1 WR DeVante Parker 2 Shaq Thompson 3 MLB Denzel Perryman — The rest for DEPTH next man up !

  2. thinking outside the box … Shaq Thompson from Washington is the “safety” to play along side of Harrison Smith for the next decade or so !!!
