The Vikings are getting some closure on the Adrian Peterson ordeal, but continue to find ways to struggle on the field. That's very interesting since it was but a few years ago that you and Anderson were such devoted enthusiasts of the Vikings drafting Matt Kalil -- and so convinced that he would be a star -- that you guys actually berated anyone who merely suggested that the Vikings would be better of drafting Luke Kuechly instead.
What's wrong with your boy, Adam! Remember, you and Anderson were touting the dingleberry as a "can't miss prospect", a "franchise left tackle" in the mold of "Walter Jones" and "Tony Boselli" that was needed in order for "Christian Ponder to take the next step". According to you geniuses, "you [NFL clubs] should never draft a LB with the third overall pick... especially over a left tackle [prospect] with All-Pro potential." If you and Rick Spielman or anyone else in Minnesota would have done your due diligence, you would have ascertained that Kalil's own coaching staff questioned his commitment to the game of football and even USC's school newspaper the "Daily Trojan" quoted a "team source" wondering whether Kalil was more interested in "chasing pretty girls on Southern Cali [sic] beaches" than "doing what is needed to succeed in the NFL." Perhaps that could be your assignment today: When Clay Matthews and Julius Peppers are blowing past him again and again and again... you can determine whether you think his head is in the game or his eyes on the cheerleaders shaking their asses along the sideline. Fair enough?

First off, leading up that draft I declared a number of times that Luke Kuechly was my favorite non-QB prospect. Recognizing the fact (like it or not, it was reality) that a LB wasn't getting picked top-3 should not have been construed as preferring anyone over Kuechly, but rather a recognition of positional value on Draft Day.
I do remember having conversations with you (or one of your many monikers) about the validity of a now-defunct site called Vikings Draft Card who never did end up putting a name to his (or her) "reports" and therefore was never added to our blogroll. I also remember that site, and the followers, insisting that the Vikings should draft Mo Claiborne, or even Justin Blackmon, over Matt Kalil. I do not recall ever berating someone for anything, let alone preferring Kuechly, so feel free to point me towards where that took place to jog my memory.
As far as Kalil goes, I'll be the first to admit that he has been a major disappointment over the last two seasons. His rookie year had me feeling good about him, like we had gotten the guy we profiled in your linked reference, but obviously that is no longer the case. I am sure we will have plenty of articles discussing just that coming up.
