2014 NFL Cuts Tracker

By Arif Hasan

This is my NFL cuts tracker, which I will update throughout the day.  Notes are my own, and positions are as projected for the Vikings. So a 3-4 defensive end is listed as a defensive tackle, and a 3-4 outside linebacker as a defensive end. That doesn’t always end up the case, but is as accurate as I can make it.

If I miss anyone, let me know in the comments. Hopefully this format is easier to navigate (sort by different columns at the bottom).

  • Arif, thanks. What do you think the Vikings are likely to be looking for? Decent guard castoffs?

    • There are almost never decent guard castoffs as it is one of the shallowest or "least deep" position groups in the league. But they may watch the CB/LB/S stuff. Unlikely to grab anyone, but always a possibility

  • 2 things.
    Avery Cunningham's numbers/school are a column off.
Did Richard Crawford seriously play guard as well as cornerback?

As always, loving the level of detail. Keep it up and you might find yourself on the fast track to the big money!

        • I would LOVE to do that, but it is a surprising order of magnitude in terms of complexity and coding. But I had thought of that, yes.

          • It wouldn't be directly sortable in this page, but you could embed an Excel spreadsheet and provide a link allowing us to download the table into our local Excel.

"Enter the tabular data inside the Excel sheet and then choose File -> Share -> Embed -> Generate HTML.

Excel, unlike Google Docs, allows you to embed a select range of cells and not the entire spreadsheet. You can also include a download link in the embedded cells making it easier for your website visitor to download and open the table in their local spreadsheet app."

  • I never bought into the "Norv means Felton is gone" storyline, but... there is some decent (and less expensive) fullback depth out there right now. Doubt they swap out to save cap space at this point, but anything is possible...

  • It's almost scary when looking at the PFF grades for the cuts made by the Broncos. Only a couple below 0 and those aren't that bad.

  • Hey Arif,

Thanks for the information. Anyway you can list the 2014 draft picks that have been cut(and what round selected)?

    Thanks

    • Draft picks cut so far, unless my coding was off:

      Jordan Zumwalt (6th) (IR)
      Tevin Reese (7th)
      Yawin Smallwood (7th)
