Report: Sometimes headlines are misleading.
An NFL.com article was headlined “Joe Webb will switch to wideout for Minnesota Vikings” on Sunday which led many to assume, you know, that the Minnesota Vikings were going to switch Joe Webb to wideout again.
That, however, may not be the case.
The source for this “report” comes from a Sid Hartman article in which Leslie Frazier gave a typical non-committal non-answer answer when asked about the possibility of once again moving Webb to another role in the offense.
“[Webb] is such a talented athlete that we want to make sure that we’re doing the right thing by him and our team, as well,” Hartman quoted Frazier. “That’s something we’ll continue to discuss as we go forward.”
Perhaps the league’s official site should have written a more responsible headline. “Frazier Doesn’t Rule Out Webb At WR” would’ve been a little less deceiving.
Regardless, things are a little slow right now, so bring on some good old Joe Webb debate!

I still call myself a Joe Webb fan after watching him sub for ponder and making huge 4th quarter comebacks. Even after watching his lackluster playoff game I still think Webb is a good quarterback. Maybe with the wrong team or wrong offensive coordinator. Musgrave doesn't really try that much making plays for Webb. Probably because he doesn't know how to incooperate Webb in the offense. He's more used to players like Matt Ryan and Ponder. The Eagles, 49ers, Seahawks, Redskins are better suited for his style of play.

" Webb is such a talented athlete" - Leslie uses "athlete" instead of football player for good reason.
"we want to make sure that we’re doing the right thing by him and our team, as well." - As far as Leslie is concerned the right thing for him and the team is, taking his "athletic" skills to another team who needs a great athlete but doesn't need a QB or Receiver.
"That’s something we’ll continue to discuss as we go forward." - Leslie translation... "we'll be cutting his athletic ass in no time."
My deepest sympathies to those families who lost loved ones and to those who were injured in the senseless bombings in Boston. As a retired military member this really pisses me off and those who are found to be responsible better be dealt with in a timely and forceful manner.
