Desmond Bishop Signs With Vikings

By Brett Anderson

Recently released ex-Packers linebacker has signed a one-year deal with the Minnesota Vikings according to 1500 ESPN’s Tom Pelissero.

The 28-year-old linebacker missed all of last season to a hamstring injury. Bishop is expected to compete for a spot at middle or outside linebacker position and will assumedly start at one of the two.

Desmond Bishop is the second former Packers player the Vikings have signed this offseason at a position of need after the Vikings signed Greg Jennings earlier this offseason.

  • Nice signing. Didn't break the bank. And Bishop is fired up. He wants to be defensive player of the year.

  • The amount was earlier reported as 1.5 million. Pelissero has retracted that though as they may be a little off. Will report back later.

  • Good pickup. But... I can't wait to see the Penn State rookies play in preseason!
This probably means Hodges and Mauti may not see much playing time this season.

I think Erin will move back to the outside linebacker spot.

  • Cool
Good to hear they signed Bishop !
    Carl,
I'm with you on the Penn State Boys :)
