A Look At Who The Vikings Have Met With

By Adam Warwas

With the Senior Bowl and East-West Shrine Game now both in that past, there is plenty to speculate about, and one of the first steps in that is identifying which prospects the Vikings have gone out of their way to meet with.

Luckily, the fine folks at Walterfootball.com are keeping tabs on each NFL team and have a list of the prospects that the Vikings have met with.  Of course, this list is probably partial, but it is still fun to scan the prospects that may be getting some extra attention from our favorite team.

Adam Warwas (Founder) has been writing about the Vikings for a total of eight years. Five of those years have been here at Vikings Territory where he continues to surround himself with enough talented individuals that people keep coming back. As proud as he is of what Vikings Territory has become, his real treasures are in his home... a beautiful wife and three amazing children (and a dog named Percy).

  • Bacarri Rambo - How cool of a name is that for a football player? This guy likes to try to rip the ball out.

If the Vikings do not resign J Sanford, I see Rambo as a target and a slight upgrade from M Raymond and Robert Blanton.

Robert Blanton was ok in a limited roll... I am just not sure if the Viking will draft a safety, or if they will give Raymond or Blanton more time to develop?

If the Vikings don't give Sanford a new deal... I like Rambo or TJ McDonald in the mid to late rounds.
Robert Lester too, but I don't think he look great at the senior bowl.

    • rambo looked good in the senior bowl game, haven't really heard much about the pratices (which really matters more than the game)

  • I honestly only recognize 3-4 of those names but I am sure as the draft closes in I will get to know more. I might not be posting much as I broke my hand and have to get a cast tomorrow but if I can still type 2 handed with the cast you can bet Ill be on.

  • Skol12-
Get to know Blidi Wreh Wilson
He is a mid to late round cb that could gives us more depth.

I think AJ Jefferson and M Sherels are free agents. Will the Vikings resign these guys?

I also like Iowa CB Micah Hyde in the 7th round... If he is still on the board.

    • Sherels and Jefferson are both restricted, they'll be back if they are tendered which is extremely likely.

  • Malte - did you notice on the list, the Vikings met with more running backs than WR???

  • These lists are incomplete. There are no limits on the amount of players a team can interview at these all star games, so they try to interview every player they can so they can focus on the Juniors at the combine. It's still good to take note of the players listed (particularly the mass gathering at winter park for late round tips), but there are a lot more guys being interviewed than what gets reported. They probably talked to all the receivers at both the Senior Bowl and Combine.
