Early Games Open Thread

By Adam Warwas

Good afternoon, Vikings fans!

Unfortunately we have an extra long wait before we get to know the fate of our 2012 Vikings, but these early games give us plenty to cheer for.

Here is a new thread for the discussion that is sure to happen.

  • because it's so hard to beat a team three times in a year, i was thinking it might be ok if we backed in to the playoffs and knocked garbage bay out in the playoffs, but that ain't gonna happen. ny 21, ugglies zeeeerooo in the first qtr! and bears lead, too

  • I didn't do a path to the playoffs for this week but here's the deal:

Scenario #1: We win and we're in. It's that simple. This is what we want to happen.

Scenario #2: We lose. Then we need the Bears, Giants and Cowboys to lose. The Bears are currently beating the Lions and the Giants are currently smoking the Eagles. The Cowboys play the Redskins later today. If we lose, it is very unlikely we will make the playoffs at this point.

I already got the butterflies, folks. Today is a HUGE game... The biggest we've had since the dreaded NFC Championship game a few years ago.

    Incredibly excited. Can't wait...

    • and if we lose, hope those teams win so we get better draft position, but i want a win first and foremost. actually, i want chit-kicking

  • Yep, Philly and the Bears are winning handily. Must win to get in.
Going to be exciting. Getting ready to head to town to see the game, so good luck everyone!

  • Seems like the way it should be. Win and you're in, no backing in. A whole helluva lot riding on what is basically their first playoff game.

Cal, how do you "have it covered" for watching the game. I know you can't post websites on here, so don't do that, but is that how you have it covered?

    • yeah. earlier this year i bought a 50" tv and a new laptop, both with hdmi, then this month bought a new receiver and got out my four old dlk 2 speakers
