Wilf Expresses Optimism On Stadium Front

By Adam Warwas

Vikings Owner Zygi Wilf had a big day today.

For nobody actually losing their job, Minnesota sure was abuzz about the changes (or, perhaps, non-changes) to the organizational structure of the franchise.

Perhaps more importantly, however, Wilf also took part in some discussions regarding the structure that his franchise will eventually call home.

Zygi, as well as Mark Wilf, met with Senators Julie Rosen and Dave Senjem to discuss the ongoing stadium situation.  The Vikings played their last game in the Metrodome under their previous lease, and are now officially without a home.

“They’re very encouraged on the progress we’re making,” Zygi Wilf said of his meeting. “And we feel that a deal is going to be in the works shortly.”

The next legislative session begins on January 24th and backers of a new stadium are hoping to have a site-specific plan put into bill form prior to that date.

“We want to make sure, as many as the people we’ve met on the Legislature, the governor, and the fans, to establish a home that will ensure this franchise for generations to come,” Zygi Wilf said. “A home that we can be proud of, a home we can enjoy with our families and also to keep on the traditions of Minnesota Vikings football.”

“Plan A,” as Wilf calls it, is still to build a $1.1 billion stadium in the team’s preferred location of Arden Hills in Ramsey County.  He said Plan B and Plan C are also plans that keep the team in Minnesota.

Let’s all just hope we never have to find out what “Plan D” entails.

  • Hey Adam or Brett I just tried to comment in the forums and it's telling me something about incorrect username and wouldnt let me comment.

    • Try logging in again and let me know if that fixes it, Johnny. I think maybe you just entered your username or password incorrectly.

      Anyone else having issues?

  • No go Adam. It's trying to make me reregister and wont accept my username. I tried both options and it says incorrect username. Before the change it had my info and would let me post.

    • If you're still having issues, let me know Johnny. There were not changes made to the Forums so it's probably an issue with incorrect password/username. We can reset your password if necessary.

      Let me know!
