A Fantastic Must-Read Account Of The Stadium Happenings

By Adam Warwas

Nothing makes me like a Vikings article more than when I get to end and I say to myself, “damn it, why didn’t I write something that cool?”

That’s when I know I found something I have to share with the rest of you.

Now, as you have already gathered, this is a stadium related article I’m about to point you towards.  If you are like me, you are more than a tad stadiumed out and have grown tired of the dry accounts of the daily “twists” and “turns” and perhaps have even grown tired of the endless attempts at humor and wit regarding the situation.  This article involves none of the above.

I had never heard of Grantland.com (apparently a Bill Simmons offshoot of ESPN), or writer Steve Marsh, until today.  However, Mr. Marsh has produced an account of the stadium bill’s rise to certainty in an article that will fit quite nicely with the group of readers we have here at VT.

The article is entitled “The House That Christian Ponder Built” and I strongly encourage you to go to the bathroom, grab a high quality root beer, and settle in to read it.  Click right here for the full article.

It is bar none the best stadium article I have read ever.

  • Read that last night Adam. It's a good read, gotta love Mr. Spooner. I'd like to see his van.

  • Speaking of the stadium. Looks like it is a done deal with the city council approving it today, Champagne anyone!?

      • I'll make you a deal Johnny, I will be up there (Minnesota) next month. I can't think a better way to bring in the new stadium than getting together with ya'll. Then 1st 3 rounds are on me!!!!!.

        • Norse, Cal's right I live in Iowa but only 45 miles South of the Minny border. So let me know when and where and I'll see if I can make it. I will gladly let you get the first 3 rounds. You could also pick CC up on your way by.

          • I only live about an hour and fifteen minutes from the Iowa Border. So not that far away actually. Looking forward to going back and getting some fishing in also. Though not looking forward to dealing with mosquitoes.

  • LOVE it! I'll toast with sparkling cider though.
    SKOL!

"You ever hear the Vikings referred to as — one word — WE? What time do we play? Did we win? GOTCHA. That's all I gotta say. If you ever in your life referred to them as we" — here he paused to point out that he knows it turns into they when they lose — "but if you ever refer to them as we, GOTCHA. Because we don't refer to the barbershop as we."

  • It's going to feel quite awkward not having any ominous black objects hanging over our off-season. Is this when 'WE' really move on and can actually focus on football? It's feels similar to being thrown into the dating scene after a long relationship.

  • Wonder if any of the 7 YES voters had any trouble sleeping the last couple nights. Were any wavering, still considering, etc.? Bet they would have had trouble sleeping the night after if they would have changed their previous position. All of a sudden any one of those 7 had an awful lot of power.

    • always nice to see socialists come together for a facist result, bud

money and egos make for strange bedfellows

      • it's way more complicated than that Cal,

first the socialists the joined forces, but they had to be convinced to do so by the nihilists who don't give a dang about the existentialists who convinced some extremists to ignore their personal absurdism and vote yes to satisfy the hedonists which ticked of the polygamists

It's a good thing that the vote was evenly divided between males and females, that could have sparked a battle with the feminists who would vie for position with the equal opportunists while fighting the sexist segregationists who know nothing about football and would have screwed up the vote for the humanists fan base.

me personally, I'm a Norwegian, so that makes me a stubornist, or ass**** in layman terms
