There’s been a lot of talk about the Vikings going after opposing defenses with a two tight end set featuring sophomore Kyle Rudolph and fellow Notre Dame alum John Carlson. That dangerous duo is now in question though after Carlson reportedly sprained his MCL today in practice.
John Carlson was signed this offseason as a free agent. The amount of his contract raised some eyebrows amongst Vikings fans considering Carlson was out with a shoulder injury the entire 2011 season. Now it looks like Carlson could potentially miss some playing time depending on the severity of the injury.
When asked by the media if the injury could cause Carlson to miss playing time, Frazier said, “It could. It could. We’ll see. They’ll tell me more when we get back in.”
Carlson was supposed to get an MRI today to make sure the injury isn’t a tear. We’ll keep you updated when those results come back.

With Johnny's history I sure hope they put an injury safety net into his contract to give them an out (if torn) or reduce it some.
Not good news, but let's remember:
1) Dude won't miss any of the regular season
2) We have Joe Webb.
We do have Joe Webb. Not sure if Carlson will miss regular season playing time though. He's expected to be out 2-4 weeks but who knows how it will heal.
3) We have Jeff Dugan's number on file.
I think it's in the "round file"
Hey!
That's hittin' below the belt Fran.
Sorry bro, couldn't help myself.

I heard a interview last night on KFAN, with Greeenway, when asked about Brinkley, Greenway said he is one of the smartest middle linebackers he has ever seen. Then Greenway said one of the hardest hitting too. You can podcast the Greenway interview. Here is a good article on Brinkley...http://www.dailynorseman.com/2012/8/1/3213046/jasper-brinkley-never-stop-working#storyjump

Reggie Jones, Reggie Jones, Reggie Jones, Reggie Jones... got it!
Why?
Meanwhile, WTF, you remember this name... Quentin Saulsberry. Undrafted offensive lineman from Miss. State is making a name for himself from what I hear (multiple sources).
Schwartz hurt.....http://www.dailynorseman.com/2012/8/3/3218968/there-has-been-a-great-disturbance-in-the-schwartz
Childs now too. They aren't getting any early returns on their injury risk players. Carlson, Schwartz, and now Childs all going down before they've played a game. Hopefully Carr can stay healthy and give the team something.
