At VT, we’re very pleased to send along Christmas well wishes to readers.
As most of you will know by now, Vikings Territory is a 365-day operation. Christmas tends to be a time when things slow down, but we still wanted to offer a special note to express our thanks to all of you who read our work. The support from our readers helps to keep the lights on, so to speak, so I can think of no better time than Christmas to send along some sincere appreciation.
And, to be sure, I’m not alone in my feeling of gratitude.
Take a look at what Dustin Baker, Managing Editor for Vikings Territory, had to say: “Merry Christmas, purple world! We wholeheartedly enjoy your readership, especially during a wacky season like this. It’s our honor to pump out Vikings analysis — even on Christmas Day — and hope our articles enhance your life and sports experience. If you ever have a suggestion or just want to chat, send me a message on Twitter (X) @dustbaker. Win, lose, or draw on Sunday, have a fantastic Christmas, and we shall see you on the website and on social media!”
Plus, there is even a word from the site’s owners, Mike and Stef Woldum: “This season we will be remembering our founder, brother and friend, Joe Johnson. Although Joe passed in the summer of 2021, his dream of bringing the very best of Vikings coverage to the fans of Minnesota is very much alive. Joe’s dream and passion drives us to continue in his stead and we are so appreciative of all of the readers of PurplePTSD.com and VikingsTerritory.com. May this season bring you rest, rejuvenation and time well spent with family and friends. Skol!”
No doubt: the 2023 Vikings have offered some wild football.
Kicking off the year was playoff disappointment. A remarkable opening season from Kevin O’Connell gave way to a very poor effort in the opening round of the playoffs. A not-very-good Giants team marched into U.S. Bank Stadium as underdogs and left as victors.
Minnesota ventured into their offseason with the mandate of rebuilding a veteran-laden, cap-strapped team without entering into a full rebuild. Along the way, Vikings Territory did its best to keep readers informed and entertained.
The offseason brought all kinds of notable news, such as the decision to draft Jordan Addison in the opening round, Danielle Hunter staging a hold-in, Dalvin Cook getting released, and there was no shortage of speculation about a Justin Jefferson extension that still hasn’t been signed.
Fast forward into the current season and things are still pretty wild. The Vikings are scraping and clawing to get into the postseason amidst their concluding stretch of the season that features three consecutive divisional showdowns. Next up are the Packers on New Year’s Eve, yet another instance of a holiday either being more cheerful or more depressing based on the performance of a football game.
Regardless of the outcome, Vikings Territory will continue offering coverage of the Vikings. The support we receive does not go unnoticed by everyone who is affiliated with our sites (PurplePTSD and Vikings Territory are in cahoots). Sincerely, we appreciate every click and follow on social media.
Our gift, as paltry as it may seem, is to continue striving to offer top-tier coverage of the Minnesota Vikings. Not perfect, no, but Vikings Territory continues to improve (or at least that’s what we like to tell ourselves). Your ongoing support is what’s enabling us to continue doing so.
Merry Christmas! Or, if Christmas isn’t your thing, then have a wonderful holiday season. May your day be filled with wonderful friends, family, and food. Be safe and keep swinging by our sites.
